Next Upcoming Event: TBC

Since starting in 2012, the Kings Norton fundraising group have raised over £20,000 for Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice.

The group meet every month at Stirchley United Club, a venue that kindly and warmly welcomes the group and their fundraising evenings.

In 2019, we were so proud to announce that the group had won an award for the West Midlands Railway Cross City Heroes! The award was given to recognise their outstanding commitment to the Hospice following years of dedicated fundraising and volunteering. They now have a very special plaque displayed at the Kings Norton railway station – keep a look out for it when you next visit!

As a group, and individually, they help raise vital funds for the Hospice by;

  • Hosting quiz and games nights at Stirchley Untied Club
  • Having a stall at the Kings Norton summer festival
  • Tea and coffee mornings at local GP surgeries
  • Supporting hospice events, campaigns and other activities
  • Running an adult and children sign language performing group
  • Representing the Hospice as an Ambassador at supporter events
  • Running and developing our Collection Box Scheme that has currently raised over £200K

Being part of the Kings Norton fundraising group is a brilliant way to do something good in my community. I’ve met some wonderful people, helped organise events that I’m really proud of, and had a lot of fun along the way. It’s nice to know that you can give as much or as little time that suits you – even just a couple of hours each month can make a real difference.” Eileen McCann, member of Kings Norton Fundraising Group
