The Big Birmingham Readathon is the perfect challenge to keep your kids busy this summer and raise vital funds for local hospice care.
The Big Birmingham Readathon
Take on a sponsored readathon this summer
Hettie, the Birmingham Hospice hedgehog, is on the lookout for kids who want to take on a sponsored readathon this summer!
It’s easy for your child to take part:
- Sign up to receive a FREE reading chart, stickers and guide
- Choose which level you want to take on: 5, 10 or 15 books
- Get sponsored to read throughout August
- Receive a FREE bookmark with your first donation and a medal from Hettie when you raise £100!
The Big Birmingham Readathon is open to children of all ages, reading books of any length – either by themselves or with a grown-up’s support.
How your support helps
Our Children’s Holistic and Therapeutic Services (CHATS) team offer free, confidential emotional support to children and young people when a loved one is living with a terminal diagnosis, or they have sadly died.
The team teach young people skills and coping mechanisms that will help them when they get upset, feel alone or face difficulties in their lives.
By getting your children involved in The Big Birmingham Readathon, they’ll get to enjoy all the benefits of reading, whilst also raising money to help other local children to access this support.
