Volunteering at Birmingham Hospice

Start your volunteer journey with Birmingham Hospice.  Volunteering is much more than giving time – it’s a way of enriching your life. There are so many ways you can get involved – we have roles in our high street shops, our hospices and within our Fundraising Teams.

Exciting volunteering opportunities

Depending on your interests and skills, there are lots of different and exciting volunteering opportunities. Whether you can give a couple of hours a week or several days a month, your time will make all the difference.

To sign up for our volunteers’ newsletter, with details of all the latest ways to get involved, please email us on fundraisevol@birminghamhospice.org.uk.

We can’t wait to welcome you to our team

As a volunteer, you could marshal at one of our fundraising events, help coordinate activities in our Living Well Centres, sort through donations at our shops or be part of our inspiring Befriending Service.

We would love to hear from you – help us make every moment matter for patients and their families.

Please note that volunteer roles cannot be used as training placements.
We can only consider clinical placement requests from our recognised education partners:

  • University of Birmingham – Nursing, medicine, physiotherapy and social work.
  • Birmingham City University – Nursing and paramedics.
  • Coventry University – Occupational therapy.
I really encourage people to just do it – get involved in volunteering. It makes a massive difference whether you are making a cup of tea for someone or helping at a hospice event.
