Volunteer Gardeners (Flexible Hours) – Help Create Peaceful Spaces at Birmingham Hospice

Love being outdoors? Join our Facilities Team to keep our hospice gardens looking their best – creating calm, welcoming spaces for patients, visitors and colleagues.

Role days/hours: Flexible – ideally a couple of hours each week

Location: Selly Park or Erdington

How you’ll make a difference: You’ll help our gardens look beautiful year-round, providing a tranquil space for patients, visitors and colleagues.

Why we need you

Both our sites have lovely grounds – and we need a little extra help to keep them looking their best through every season, from spring and summer right through to preparing for autumn and winter.

No qualifications are needed. Our Facilities Team will support you and help you build confidence and skills in the role – we’re looking for enthusiastic people with green fingers!

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lawn management (mowing/seeding)
  • Planting and weeding
  • Pruning and general tidying
  • Seasonal jobs such as clearing leaves and helping prepare beds and plants for colder weather
