24/7 specialist support for patients, families and healthcare professionals
HoBS – Hospices of Birmingham and Solihull – brings together specialists from Birmingham St Mary’s, John Taylor and Marie Curie West Midlands Hospices to provide responsive, expert support and advice for people and families needing palliative and end of life care.
Operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the core HoBS Team is formed of specialist nurses, healthcare assistants, a family and carer support team and administrators who are supported by palliative care consultants, pharmacists, bereavement specialists and physio and occupational therapists . Operating from a centralised hub, the team is on call for people in the community as well as additional teams at the three hospice Inpatient Units.
Working with Birmingham and Solihull CCG and other healthcare providers across the region, the HoBS team assess whether patients need advice, community support or admittance for round-the-clock care.
