Whether you’re an online gamer or classic board games are more your style, we’re asking you to Raise Your Game this March in support of Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice. So gather your friends, family and colleagues together (or go it alone) and let’s get gaming!

  • Video Gaming

    There are lots of ways that you can get involved in Raise Your Game through video gaming. Here are a few ideas below;

    Gameathon – Select your console, select your game(s) and select your hours for your gameathon! Top tip: Use the gaming platform Twitch or Youtube to stream your gameathon for others to watch and make donations! 

    Gaming Tournament – Gather your friends and family virtually or play with your household to hold a gaming tournament. Ask for a donation towards the hospice to join in the tournament. Top Tip: stream your tournament and set up a fundraising page to gain further donations! 

    Mix it up – Mix up your gaming experience by setting a fundraising target with a pledge to complete something wacky once reached e.g. dress up as your favourite gaming character or wax your legs! Top Tip: Use your Twitch Panel to tell your followers when you will be planning to take part in Raise Your Game! 

    They Control – Stream your game on Twitch and ask your followers control how you play! For every challenge you complete, ask for a donation to the Hospice. Top Tip: Link your fundraising donation page to your Twitch page to make it easier for people to make a donation! 

     

  • Board Gaming

    There are lots of ways you can get involved in Raise Your Game through Board Gaming. Ask for a donation off your friends and family to join in the fun and help raise vital funds for the Hospice. Here are a few ideas of how you can get involved;

    Gameathon – Choose your hours that you would like to board game for and then see how many different board games you can play in that time!

    Gaming Tournament – When hosting a tournament, make sure to choose a popular board game, decide if playing as individuals or teams and make sure to have a prize for who wins! Make sure to choose games that can be played virtually over a video call for your friends or family to join in the tournament.

    Mix it Up – Mix up your board game tournament by asking people to wear gaming fancy dress to the video call or add some challenges alongside your board game fun such as if you lose you have to wax your legs!

    We hope you have a great time taking part in Raise Your Game, but it is also important to look after yourself too, so take a look at some of our safety tips to support you whilst gaming.

    There are a couple of fantastic fundraising platforms to support you with your fundraising, including JustGiving. which will give you tips on how to link your fundraising page to your stream!
