Hallie and Kerry's Readathon story:
Kerry signed up her daughter, Hallie, to take part in The Big Birmingham Readathon in 2023. She said:
“Hallie and I really enjoyed her Readathon challenge. Hallie loves reading (in particular anything with unicorns) and so it was great to spend time together each evening doing something she enjoys. Knowing we were raising money for such an incredible place made it even better.
“Hallie was so proud knowing she was helping poorly people, and couldn’t wait to show her certificate and medal off at school!”
How your support helps
Our Children’s Holistic and Therapeutic Services (CHATS) team offer free, confidential, emotional support to children and young people when a loved one is living with a terminal diagnosis, or they have died.
The team teach coping mechanisms that will help them when they’re upset, feel alone or face difficulties in their lives.
By getting your children involved in The Big Birmingham Readathon, they’ll get to enjoy all the benefits of reading, while raising money to help other local children to access this support.
