Help your students become future entrepreneurs by signing up to Birmingham Hospice Enterprise Challenge in support of local people living with a terminal diagnosis
Have you got what it takes to turn £50 into £500 in our brand-new enterprise challenge?
Bring out your students’ entrepreneurial side and step into the Birmingham Hospice Enterprise Challenge – an exciting, practical experience that puts your students in the driving seat. This isn’t just another school activity – it’s a chance to make a genuine impact.
The challenge is to turn £50 (provided by a local business) into a minimum of £500, using enterprise skills and teamwork. There will be an opportunity to develop a range of transferable skills, such as problem solving, communication, presenting, time management and budgeting.

How does the challenge work?
During the summer term your students will plan and deliver their Enterprise Challenge idea – turning £50 into minimum of £500! The enterprise support pack is designed to help you every step of the way – from planning through to the delivery of the challenge and will help identify opportunities for cross-curricular activities.
Our friendly Fundraising Team will be on hand to support you throughout this process, introducing your students to the challenge through an assembly or workshop, and facilitating a ‘Dragon’s Dens’ type activity for students to pitch to the hospice team and a local business partner. The team can also provide a range of support materials if needed, including: buckets, banners, balloons, sponsorship forms, and a letter of assurance to send out to local businesses.

What your fundraising means for Birmingham Hospice
Birmingham Hospice offers care to those living with a terminal diagnosis across Birmingham and the surrounding areas. This year we estimate it could cost £20 million to run Birmingham Hospice, and we need to raise at least £8 million from fundraising activity. By taking part in this challenge your students will not only develop skills to help them now and in the future, they will also be supporting a worthwhile cause.
