5K Steps a Day Challenge

Sign up for free to the 5K Steps a Day Challenge this October and raise vital funds to support local people living with a terminal diagnosis.

Step up for care this October for Birmingham Hospice. Challenge you and your loved ones to walk 5,000 steps every day to raise vital funds and win your own unique challenge medal. Getting fit and supporting your local Hospice has never been easier!

By supporting Birmingham Hospice, you are helping to provide vital, compassionate care for our patients and their loved ones. Your donation doesn’t just help with medical needs – it provides dignity, comfort, and joyful moments during some of life’s most difficult times. Your 5,000 steps a day can make a real difference for people in your local community living with a terminal illness, and their loved ones. Once you have completed the challenge and raised £100, you will receive your unique 5K Steps a Day Challenge medal.

You can run or walk your steps at any time, anywhere! Why not use the challenge to explore parts of Birmingham you have never been to before? Or get together with colleagues on a lunch break to get you all moving throughout the work day? The 5000 steps challenge could be a great way to spend quality time together as a family this autumn and get some fresh air away from screens – all while giving back to your local community!

Upon your first £10 donation you’ll receive a lovely Birmingham Hospice running vest or T-shirt. Once you raise £100, you will secure your unique 5K steps medal.

Taking part is easy! Follow the steps below to support Birmingham Hospice this October:

  1. Register and join the Facebook group

How your fundraising helps:
  • £102 could pay for a nurse to visit a patient in their home so they can be cared for in the place of their choice.
  • £165 could pay for an Occupational Therapist to visit a patient at home, helping them be as independent as possible.
  • £333 could pay for 24 hours of nursing support in our Inpatient Units, offering specialist care from our team of clinical and medical experts.

Laura's Story

Laura Dawson took on a medal challenge for Birmingham Hospice and raised an amazing £570 in memory of her friend, Kirsty.

Kirsty was cared for in our Selly Park Inpatient Unit and Laura wanted to give back for the compassionate care she received.

Laura said. “Kirsty was so well looked after; I was allowed to come and visit her whenever I liked. I used to wear silly outfits to make her smile, and it was special to her. She was so comfortable, and we are so grateful to the hospice.

“The medals are great quality – I’ve really enjoyed taking on this challenge for Birmingham Hospice.”

We are here for you every mile of the way! As soon as you register you will receive:
