Blow away the winter cobwebs and join Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice for our springtime sponsored cycle event.

Starting at the prestigious King Edward VI Five Ways School, cyclists can choose from two scenic routes. Both routes meander through the leafy green South Birmingham suburbs and the picturesque countryside of North Worcestershire. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or complete novice, there is a route to suit your ability.

The Family Route - A 14km cycle around the reservoir and into the leafy suburbs of Bartley Green.   Click HERE to view the route.

The Tour de Bartley Green - A 60km hilly challenge starting in Bartley Green and extending into Frankley, Romsley, Chaddesley Corbett, Barnt Green and back to the reservoir. The route rises to a maximum elevation of 274m and incorporates Frankley Beeches, Romsley Hill and the Lickey Hills.  Click HERE to view the route.

We ask everyone to pre-register for the event. Cyclist can sign-in on the day and head off at any time between 10am and 11am.

Refreshments and toilets will be available at the start/finish point. For the Tour de Bartley Green route there will be a water station and comfort stop en route. For your safety both routes will be fully signed and marshalled at busy junctions.

All finishers will receive a commemorative gift and complimentary refreshments.

St Johns Ambulance will be in attendance at this event and will drive the route following behind cyclists.

Onsite Fees:

The Family Route - £10.00 per person
(unfortunately this event is not suitable for children under the age of 10)

The Tour de Bartley Green - £20.00 per person

Your registration fee covers the cost of hosting the event. It is your sponsorship money that makes a huge difference to our patients and their families. There is no minimum sponsorship target, we just ask you to raise as much as you can.

Alternatively you may wish to make a donation in lieu of gathering sponsorship.

Call for Volunteers

We rely on volunteers to help deliver our events. If you aren't able to take part in the cycle but would like to help out or if you have a partner, friend or family member taking part and you would be available to volunteer then please email with your contact details.

How your money helps

  • £10 pays for a neck pillow to ensure patients can be transported comfortably
  • £25 pays for a Hospice at Home nurse for an hour
  • £65 pays for a nurses uniform
