Taryn is going Pink! on Friday 9th October to support Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice Go Pink! day.
Taryn will be embracing the Go Pink! day and will be dyeing her hair pink to raise vital funds for individuals living with life limiting illness.
Taryn said; “Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice was a charity that my Mum always supporter and after she died, I carried on supporting them. Also my mother-in-law was diagnosed with terminal cancer and she was looked after wonderfully by the Hospice at Home team from the Hospice. The care she received, we will always be grateful for, so I wanted to do something to support them on their Go Pink! day. Every donation, no matter how small helps and I want to encourage anyone to get involved and donate as part of the Go Pink! day. I can’t wait to Go Pink with my hair dye!”
Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice will be encouraging people to Go Pink! by glamming up in your best pink outfit, baking delicious pink cakes and delivering them to loved ones for a donation to the Hospice or hosting a quiz evening with some help from their Go Pink! quiz questions.
Every day the Hospice provides care to around 500 people, offering support in people’s homes, in the community and at the hospice itself. During the pandemic the Hospice staff have been continuing to provide round-the-clock care on our Inpatient Unit, as well offering critical support in people’s homes, on the phone, and via digital consultations.
Maria Goodwin, Communtiy Fundraiser at the Hospice said, “As more restrictions are enforced, our fundraising has been impacted and we need people’s support more than ever! It costs £9 million a year to run our services, with 64% of our funding coming voluntary donations. By going pink this October you can make a real difference to individuals living with life limiting illness in your community and help the hospice to keep vital services running during the pandemic.”
