On Saturday 13 August, hundreds of people came to Party in the Park with The Hospice Charity Partnership.
Party in the Park was a huge celebration of all things summer 2022; welcoming the world’s best athletes to our city, one year of The Hospice Charity Partnership and, as ever, our wonderful community – like you – who make it possible for us to continue providing vital care to local people living with life-limiting illness and their families.
The day saw Selly Park Recreation Ground transform into a party paradise, jam-packed with live entertainment, fairground games, local vendors, tasty food and a giant foam and wind tunnel, with sunny weather to match the sparkling atmosphere.
Throughout the day, we were treated to live performances from Baby Sing ‘n’ Jam, performing a perfect blend of pop music and well-known children’s songs, and Psilovibes, a five-piece dance music band influenced by a number of urban genres.
Our fairground games proved very popular, with many children (and adults!) walking away with a treat or two. The foam and wind tunnel were a huge hit also, helping to keep us all cool on a sunny day. Speaking of huge hits, everyone was very grateful for the free samosas and pakoras kindly supplied by our friends at Guru Gobind Singh Gurdwara, Mary Street.
We were spoilt for choice with food generally, with delicious hot dogs, burgers and loaded fries from What’s Cooking, tasty Caribbean food from Emma’s Pantry, and treats for the taste buds from the pizza and ice cream vans.
We would like to say a huge thank you to our fabulous live entertainers, the wonderful local businesses and community groups who we shared the day with, our brilliant Events Team, staff and volunteers, and all of the amazing people that came along!
