James Barwell, Director of Colour Cubed, is the first to sign up to our new corporate event ‘Fright or Flight’.
This November we’re challenging Business Supporters to conquer their fears and abseil 48 metres down the Park Regis hotel in Birmingham. BUT, the challenge doesn’t finish there! Once grounded, the race is on to tackle our ‘stair-rush’ to be the quickest to reach the hotel’s fabulous Sky Bar on the 16th floor, where challengers will be greeted with a glass of bubbly.
James has said:
I am genuinely terrified of heights. On top of this, I also had a hip replacement in the Spring, so if I get control of my legs after the abseil, the 16 flights back up to Sky Bar won’t come easily to me.
I first heard about the event as my business partner Simon is a Business Ambassador for the Hospice, and we are also the print supplier to Park Regis Hotel. Somehow, they managed to convince me to take part, and now I can’t back out! A few colleagues and suppliers are planning to watch me from the Sky Bar, just to make me even more nervous. I am looking forward to reaching the top and celebrating with them though.
Despite all my fears, what made me want to do this is the thought of being able to raise lots of money for the Hospice, and knowing that it will support local people living with terminal illness.
