Carola is leading our first session at Let’s Danceathon and this is her story…
I’ve been an enthusiastic dancer since I could first walk and balance on my granddad’s toes. From ballet lessons in primary school and ballroom dancing in my teens, I progressed to modern jive and I am now a convert to all things swing and Lindy Hop.
A regular swing dancer in Birmingham since 2012, I’ve been particularly inspired by the energy that local band Electric Swing Circus have injected into the Birmingham scene. It’s only natural then that I am really excited by the fresh approach of SwingTrain to their fitness classes – the sounds are infectious, the moves fun… it’s the perfect recipe to get everyone moving.
With a teaching background and a level 3 qualification as a fitness instructor and personal trainer, I place great value on individual approaches to learning, and accept that each person has their own reasons for coming to group exercise classes and a different style and pace. In our classes there is no such thing as “getting it wrong” – the emphasis is on keeping it fun!
