Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice is today launching its ‘Run with Your Hospice’ campaign.
A team of 15 staff, comprised of nurses, fundraisers and even the Hospice’s Chief Executive are asking you to put on your trainers and join them in completing Birmingham’s Bupa Half Marathon on October 19th.
The group is made up of a mixture of first time and experienced runners, including Lead Hospice at Home Nurse Trish Squire.
Trish said “This is a fantastic opportunity to get together with your friends and family, get fit and raise funds for a wonderful cause; the great thing about running for Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice is that you will have the support of the whole team behind you”.
Runners joining the Hospice team can expect a range of benefits, including support from a local gym, Anytime Fitness, who have provided sports and nutrition plans for the Hospice team and are offering discounts on membership and personal training.
Simon Pittman, Club Manager, said: “As a gym serving the local community we feel it is important to support charities that do the same. We really value the work that Birmingham St Mary’s do across Birmingham and Sandwell, and we want to ensure that all of their runners have the best half marathon experience possible”
Runners will also be invited to a special ‘Meet the Experts’ event in June and can take advantage of 15% off trainers and free gait analysis from Solihull- based sports retailer Birmingham Runner.
