Make a dedication and help Light up a Life this Christmas

21 November 2025

You and your loved ones are warmly invited to join us in a magical celebration of life – and to be part of your local community supporting hospice care this festive season.

Kerry Millard, Head of Clinical Services at Birmingham Hospice, invites you to Light up a Life:

“I’m Kerry Millard and I have the privilege of leading the hospice team that take Birmingham Hospice’s services out to the community – bringing free, expert care into the homes of hundreds of local people every year.

“I joined the hospice 18 months ago – following more than two decades of nursing local people in and around Birmingham. But now, as part of the hospice team myself, I fully realise just how special this care service truly is.

“Every day, I see our dedicated team of nurses, care assistants, staff and volunteers go the extra mile; providing expert clinical care that is simply the very best available for local families.

“Today, it is my great pleasure to invite you and your loved ones to be part of one of the most important times for many at the hospice – our annual Light up a Life celebration event, where we come together in shared remembrance of the lives of precious people sadly no longer with us.

“Each service, lasting just under an hour, is a warm, uplifting celebration of life – in a welcoming, supported space with hospice staff and many others who understand the feelings of grief and loss we all experience no matter how long ago it was. The highlight is always when we light our Christmas trees on the night, with each light twinkling in memory of someone special.”
