How can we create a future where the best experience of living is available to everyone leading up to and at the end of life?
As more people are living longer with a range of illnesses, some in challenging social circumstances, how can we adapt hospice care to meet the needs of future generations?
These are the questions that Lunar Society members and guests and will be discussing on Tuesday 5th March – the eve of Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice’s 40th anniversary – at a debate about the future of hospice care.
Chairing the panel will be former Home Secretary the Rt Hon Jacqui Smith, now Chair of University Hospital Birmingham. Other panellists will be Tina Swani, Chief Executive at Birmingham St Mary’s and BBC WM broadcaster Llewela Bailey.
Founded in the 18th century, The Lunar Society is a dynamic forum that aims to influence change through stimulating ideas and broadening debate. By holding its next event at the Hospice, the panel aims to stimulate debate about society’s changing needs for end of life care and how to meet them.
