How Trish Collected a Car Full of Toys and Games

18 October 2016

When Trish saw our Facebook Live video giving everyone a sneak peek of our Children’s Room, she thought it was fantastic and wanted to help us out. So she set about collecting toys and games from family, friends and even people she’d never met before.

Trish’s grandson Alfie has lots of toys and agreed to share some of them to help the Hospice. Alfie was even lovely enough to donate his amazing Mario teddy…

To extend her reach, Trish got in touch with the B31 Voices Facebook page to ask if they would support her donation drive. They were happy to oblige and shared her message with all of their followers. Trish was over the moon with the response as lots of people got involved to support the Hospice.

We want to thank Trish, Alfie, Jamie (Alfie’s dad who helped to deliver all of the toys) and all of the amazing people who donated toys and games to support Birmingham St Mary’s! As a local charity, we couldn’t do what we do without your support.

Since Trish’s appeal, we’ve received further generous donations and unfortunately, we can’t actually fit any more toys in the Children’s Room. If you still have toys though and would like to support the Hospice, please take them along to your local Birmingham St Mary’s shop – find your nearest one here. Your donations will ensure that we can continue to support children and families in Birmingham and Sandwell.
