On Saturday 20th June, Edgbaston Golf Club held their Captains’ Charity Golf Day and Gala Dinner in aid of two charities nominated by this year’s men’s and ladies captains, Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice and Diabetes UK.
Peter Fawcus, General Manager of Edgbaston Golf Club, said: “Through the generous donations and contributions of our members, we were able to raise a total of £19,506.21 on the day. These funds have been split between Diabetes UK and Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice. The Club is very proud to be able support two such wonderful causes.”
Hamish Shilliday, Head of Fundraising said: “At the Hospice we are incredibly grateful for this donation and the support of Edgbaston Golf Club, the funds will go towards supporting over 1000 terminally ill patients and their families across Birmingham and Sandwell. We would like to thank all of the members involved for allowing us to be able to carry out our vital work”
