Dr gets on her bike and raises £4000 for Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice

Dr Becky Dawlatly a mother of 3 and a Doctor at Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice has raised more than £4000 for the Hospice.

The Harborne resident and mother of three young children, completed the epic challenge after months of training in and around Birmingham

Becky set off from Crystal Palace, London and cycled 300 miles to the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

The ride took four days, the first day from London to Dover with a ferry crossing to Calais; and then three more days of gruelling heat across northern France to Paris.

Speaking after the ride Becky said: “It was really hard but I’m thrilled to have completed the challenge and to have raised so much for the hospice. Thanks to everybody who have been so generous in their support.”

“Many people don’t realise that hospices largely rely on donations to maintain the services they provide to the local community.”

Event Manager Lucy Watkins said: “The London to Paris cycle is one of the most challenging events we have here at the Hospice. We are all really proud of Becky, and the money she has raised will help support the 1000’s people living with terminal illness in Birmingham and Sandwell”

The London to Paris challenge will be back in 2016, find out how you can take part here http://www.birminghamhospice.org.uk/Event/london-to-paris-2016
