For over ten years, South Birmingham Sinfonia has been raising money to support their local Hospice and local people in need of crucial Hospice care leading up to and at the end of their life – and this year is no different!
The full sized symphony orchestra, who are committed to music-making of the highest standard, will once again be joining together for an evening of entertainment to support Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice.
‘Music for a Summer’s Evening’ will be a varied programme of mostly British Twentieth Century compositions. Taking place on Saturday 14th July at the Ruddock Performing Arts Centre, it will feature Holst – The Perfect Fool, Vaughan Williams – Fantasia on a theme by Thomas Tallis, and Walton – Suite from Henry V. The concert will be conducted by Jon Hargreaves, South Birmingham Sinfonia’s new Musical Director
Publicity Officer Alison said ‘South Birmingham Sinfonia is based in Bournville, not far from Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice, and many of the orchestra’s members have family and friends who have benefitted from the wonderful care and support of the Hospice staff. We are keen to continue our longstanding support for the Hospice.’
