I can’t believe I haven’t written a blog since March! I closed my last blog talking about our Forget Me Not campaign in Brindleyplace, and the answer is yes, the display did give me goosebumps.
To quickly backtrack, for those reading for the first time, I’m Charlotte and I’m part of the corporate fundraising team here at Birmingham St Mary’s. My blogs are all about my experiences at the Hospice, my thoughts on corporate responsibility practices and what they really mean to the local community.
The Chocolate Gunge Tank
When Brindleyplace chose us as their charity partner for their Chocival festival, it is true to say I was in my element…chocolate and fundraising…yes please!
After thinking through a few ideas and discussing ideas with talented colleagues, we were quickly sold on The Chocolate Gunge Tank. So, to celebrate the return of Brindleyplace’s Chocival festival, we are asking to you persuade your boss to enter the Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice Chocolate Gunge Tank on Friday 20th October.
Andy Williams, Partner at EY has already signed up to The Chocolate Gunge Tank, as part of EY commitments to the Hospice after choosing us as their Charity of the Year. Andy has also roped in both a good friend and a competitor firm, with Andy Halls, Partner at Deloitte. Head to head, they will compete to see who can raise the most money. The event will definitely be entertaining!
The Chocolate Gunge Tank is a real collaboration of some of our biggest firms in Birmingham putting their corporate social responsibility policies into practice, with GVA as hosts on the Brindleyplace estate, and EY and Deloitte for nominating ‘gungees’, and we hope many more leaders in business will follow…
The Secret Terrace
We are really proud to be charity of the year to Park Regis Hotel this year. The team at Park Regis Hotel have been great at working closely with me to create a strategic plan which brings commercial gain and achieves mutual objectives.
This is the Park Regis management team at a dining event held at the Hotel recently for the Hospice (the food was amazing!)
It’s fab to see the whole team getting involved with the Hospice. I met with Daniel Skermer a couple of months ago, those of you who have met him will know he is full of energy! Daniel thoughtfully invited us to partner with them on their August Atmosphere event. (A sizzling barbecue and networking event on their Secret Terrace, let’s hope the sun shines!). The Hotel are generously donating £15 for every ticket sold, and also providing an opportunity to raise awareness of the Hospice. Hopefully, we will also be able to bring some new faces to the event too.
The Park Regis team approach corporate social responsibility with what they do best; wonderful hospitality!
Well, that’s my musings for now. I’ll try not to leave it so long next time, have a great summer!
