Get your dancing shoes ready as Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice hosts its first ever dance-a-thon this March.
The Selly Park Hospice is looking for locals to show their support by busting out their best moves on Saturday 4th March at St Mary’s Parish Centre, Harborne from 4pm for their ‘Let’s Danceathon’ event.
Led by dance experts, supporters will have the chance to dance their way through six different routines including BollyTone and Burlesque during the six hour dance-a-thon. Participants will be encouraged to dress in pink and purple – the charity’s colours as they strut their stuff during the fundraising event.
Lucy Watkins, Events Manager at Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice said; “We’re really excited to host our ‘Lets Danceathon’ event for the first time. This is something really different and fun for the Hospice. Dancing is a fantastic way of keeping active and enjoying yourself and by signing up to take part you will also be supporting a great local cause. Whether you’re a dancing amateur or a dancing queen, we hope to see you all on the dancefloor!”
Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice provides support to over 1,200 individuals and their families, carers and loved ones each year, costing £8million. This level of care is made possible by the backing of the public with over half of the running costs coming from voluntary donations.
Registration is £10 per person or £8 for groups of five or more. The event is open to anyone aged 12 and over.
