Birmingham Bucket Collection returns bigger than ever

2 July 2014

After raising a staggering £12,500 over two days in 2013, Birmingham’s favourite two day bucket collection is back, and bigger than ever.

On Friday 26th – Saturday 27th September 2014, volunteers will be taking to the streets to raise money for Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice as part of The Birmingham Bucket Collection 2014.

Residents of Birmingham and Sandwell will be able to donate to one of the many teams of volunteers who will be using their collection buckets to raise valuable funds across the city.

The event has been running for over 20 years, and this year has added a host of new collection locations, including Birmingham International Airport and popular music venue The Jam House.

Sarah Barber, Fundraising Projects Officer said:

“The Birmingham Bucket Collection is a fun and simple way for people to support their local hospice, and each year we try to make it bigger than the last. The support we have had so far has been phenomenal, and we are encouraging everyone to get involved and be a part of the biggest Birmingham Bucket Collection yet!”

The money raised from the campaign will help support local families who are living with terminal illness in Birmingham and Sandwell.

Participants can choose to join one of the existing collections or organise their own collection.

On signing up, participants will receive a welcome pack with ideas and useful information for their collection day(s).
