Hearts and Stars Memory Walk

Walk 5 miles together at the Hearts and Stars Memory Walk! A special way for you to get together with your friends and family, to celebrate and remember your loved ones.

Who will you walk for? 💖

Our loved ones live on in our hearts and brighten up the sky at night ⭐

Each year, hundreds of our supporters walk together, support one another and raise vital funds to ensure more people have the chance to be with their loved ones in their last moments.

This year’s Hearts and Stars Memory Walk will start and finish in the stunning setting of Birmingham’s Botanical Gardens, a peaceful place for you to reflect on your special memories. Doors will open to the event from 6.30pm, and at 7.30pm we’ll come together for a moment of remembrance and reflection, before you warm-up Zumba-style and then set-off on your 5-mile walk.

As the night falls over the beautiful Birmingham Botanical Gardens, our supporters will be there to light up the sky with memories of their loved ones.

You can join them by getting a group together, dressing up to rival the brightest stars in the sky and raising a toast to those no longer with us ✨

Memory Heart Keyring

When signing up to this event you can dedicate a special memory heart to your loved one. This will be available to print out at home and decorate with the name of your loved one, or you can pick one up on the day of the event.

And, by making an additional £5 donation and helping Birmingham Hospice care for more people at the end of their life, on event day you’ll be given a keepsake heart keyring to take home and forever remember your loved ones by.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting Birmingham Hospice. Every step you take in June, makes such a difference and we can’t wait to welcome you to this year’s Hearts and Stars Memory Walk!

FAQs

Our Hearts and Stars Memory Walk is an event for everyone, and we welcome people of all ages and abilities. We plan for the route to be both pushchair and wheelchair friendly. If you have a child under 18 going with you, there is the option for them to take part for FREE (and not receive a medal). Under 18’s must register and be accompanied by a registered adult at all times. If you need assistance you’re free to bring a carer or aide with you to the event free of charge; please just inform the Events Team at the registration tent on the day. Assistance dogs only will be allowed into the Botanical Gardens. Free parking is available on site, and friends and family who might not be taking part, but want to cheer you on, can also attend the gardens for free.

Once you’ve signed up to the Hearts and Stars Memory Walk you’ll receive a confirmation email with a link to download your Hearts and Stars Memory Walk Event Guide and Information Pack. The pack has everything you need to know about the event, ideas for fundraising and information about how you’re making a difference by doing something so incredible – thank you! Please do share this with anyone else you sign up with and let us know if you would like a hard copy sent in the post. In your pack you’ll find a walker sign for you to print off and wear on the day to share who you’re walking for. When you arrive on the day our friendly team of staff and volunteer will be there to welcome you, get you registered and support with any questions you might have.

There’s no minimum sponsorship target to take part in this event, however we do ask for everyone to raise as much as they can. There’s no donation too big or small, and every penny makes a difference.
