Take part in a run with a difference! Could you Run Alton Towers in support of your local hospice?

Get ready to Run Alton Towers in support of Birmingham Hospice!

This run like no other takes place around the biggest theme park in the Midlands – and Birmingham Hospice have limited charity places available.

You can take on either a 5K, 10K, or Half Marathon as part of Team Brum’s Hospice and make a difference to local people living with a life-limiting illness.

Run for Birmingham Hospice with one of our charity places and pledge to hit minimum sponsorship in return for free ride access after the race!

Sign up through the organisers – if you can’t make it, there are other Midlands RunThrough events to choose from.

Signed up already or looking to run with your own place? Simply let us know and set your own sponsorship target. Pledge to raise £50 and you’ll receive a Birmingham Hospice running vest in return.

Event FAQs

Saturday 15 November, 10am for the 10K

Sunday 16 November, 10am for the 5K and Half Marathon – please note there is a cut-off time of 1pm for the Half Marathon distance.

We welcome anyone to run for Team Brum’s Hospice on their chosen date.

The organisers do highlight the following for each distance:

  • Minimum age for the 5K is 11 years old
  • Minimum age for the 10K is 15 years old
  • Minimum age for the Half Marathon is 17 years old

An undulating 5k loop within the iconic Alton Towers resort. Starting and finishing outside the Towers, the route begins with a loop of the Dark Forest, which includes the rides TH13TEEN and Rita. The route then passes in front of the Towers towards the Smiler, before going past the lake into CBeebies Land, where you’ll meet characters like the Teletubbies! You’ll then pass Mutiny Bay (and some angry pirates) and through Katanga Canyon, before making your way down to Nemesis Reborn. You’ll then head out of the resort by Galactica for a small loop in the car park areas, before returning through the same gate and into the creepy Haunted Hollow. A final loop around the Dark Forest brings you back to the Towers for the finish. Now time to enjoy all the rides!

All our charity place runners will have pledged to raise a minimum sponsorship target dependent on the distance:

5K – pledge to raise £100*

10K – pledge to raise £150*

Half Marathon – pledge to raise £250*

Please note as your race entry includes free ride entry on the day of your race,  your fundraising target* needs to be reached by Sunday 26 October 2025 to be able to take part in the race.

 

For our own place runners in any distances, you do not have a set fundraising target. Just remember, every single penny you raise will make an incredible difference to Birmingham Hospice. Pledge to raise £50 in return for a Birmingham Hospice running vest to wear on the day!

Since 2013, RunThrough has become a national running community and organises multiple large-scale running events, across the country throughout the year.

When signing up with a charity place, you will be re-directed to Run Through’s site/registration form page to complete the sign up process by entering all your details. Once you’ve signed up we’ll receive a notification and will be in touch to welcome you to Team Brum’s Hospice and support you in the build up to your run.
