Sainsbury’s Maypole has just completed a successful charity of the year partnership that saw them raise over £8000 for Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice.
After choosing the Hospice for charity of the year in June 2014, Sainsbury’s Maypole began a year of fundraising activity, including allocating extra collection slots for the Hospice’s army of volunteers.
Teresa Freeman, collection volunteer said: “I have loved collectingat Sainsbury’s in Maypole, the team here have been so supportive and it’s great knowing that you’re part of such an important partnership”
The store also supported the Hospice by donating refreshments for fundraising events and vouchers for raffle prizes.
Olivia Verney, PR Ambassador for Sainsbury’s Maypole said: “We have really enjoyed been a part of the partnership, it has been great because all of the staff have really got behind the fundraising activity. It’s been a great team building exercise, and to have raised over £8000 for such a worthwhile charity has made it even better.
