Birmingham Hospice is set to open its 24th shop in the area with the latest addition in Hobs Moat, Solihull.
The new venture will offer employment and volunteering opportunities for local people and will complement the charity’s existing shops in Dovehouse, Dorridge and Marston Green,
The shop will contribute to the £7.2 million the hospice needs to raise through fundraising this year.
Set to open on Hobs Moat Road on 12th June 2025, the store will sell pre-loved and donated items from clothing, homeware, bric-a-brac, media and children’s clothes and toys.
Jonathan Varley, Head of Retail at Birmingham Hospice, said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing a new Birmingham Hospice shop to Hobs Moat Road.
“With many of our patients and their families as well as existing supporters living locally, it’s the perfect place to open a new store and we’re excited to be part of an amazing local community.”
“We plan to open another two shops in 2025, enabling us to raise even more money for the hospice and support local people living with a terminal diagnosis.”
Birmingham Hospice provides specialist palliative and end of life care to people living in Birmingham, Sandwell, Sutton Coldfield and Solihull.
The shop will take on around 40 regular volunteers including shop floor assistants, merchandisers, stock sorters and till operators.
