Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice is seeking business leaders from across Birmingham and Sandwell to join its board of trustees.
Following the launch of their new four-year strategy at the end of 2016, Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice is hoping to recruit new trustees looking to help take the Hospice forward.
The Hospice is keen to attract interest from people looking to make a difference to their local community and particularly with expertise in PR & marketing, human resources and organisational development, business and commercial profile and clinical (nursing, medical, social work and allied health).
The board of trustees play a key role in shaping the Hospice and is made up of business professionals of all ages and diverse backgrounds. Trustees serve the charity on a voluntary basis.
On Tuesday 28th February at 1.00pm, the Hospice will be hosting a trustee recruitment networking lunch offering prospective trustees the chance to speak to current trustees and executive directors. There will also be an opportunity to find out more about the charity and the ways they could work together to make a difference.
Vij Randeniya, Chairman at Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice said: “This is a really exciting time for the Hospice as we work towards our vision where the best experience of living is available to everyone leading up to and at the end of life.
Being a trustee is such a rewarding role and as part of the Hospice’s strategic development, we’re looking for committed and passionate individuals with the skills and knowledge to enhance and support the current board. This is a great opportunity for you to help shape the future of the Hospice and to make a lasting difference to a fantastic local cause.”
The Selly Park based Hospice which costs over £8m per year to run, relies heavily on support from volunteers to enable them to provide free end of life care and support at the Hospice, in people’s homes and out in the community to local families living with a terminal illness.
