Greek Cypriot and Friends Golf Society have clubbed together raising £58k for Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice from their annual golfing tournaments, undertaken by the society since 1994.

The Society have been putting their way around courses at different golf clubs across the city to raise money for the Hospice after one of their members, Andreas Ktori’s, wife Amalia was cared for at the Hospice.

The latest tournament took place on Wednesday 24th May at Moseley Golf Club where approximately 40 members were involved, raising more than £3,500 for the Hospice. The annual event included an awards ceremony, evening meal, auction and a raffle to help raise further money for the Hospice.

Jenny Chin, Community Fundraiser said “It is always an honour to attend the Greek Cypriot and Friends Golf event each year on behalf of the Hospice. The society has raised a fantastic amount for the Hospice in Amalia’s memory. We are very appreciative of the money raised to support the services we provide, as every penny we receive is vital for helping patients and their families across Birmingham and Sandwell.”

The society are aiming to reach the £60k mark next year and will be holding a special tournament to celebrate their 25th anniversary in 2019.
