Childhood Grief: A Creative Approach
Date: Wednesday 21st February 2024
Time: 9:30am – 4pm
Supporting children and young people through pre-bereavement and their journey of grief can feel overwhelming. Our specialised training aims to equip you with effective creative and therapeutic tools to support children and families that you work with as well as increase your overall confidence to do so.
We will be looking at the following topics through the day:
- What bereavement looks like in children
- The wider impact of grief
- Strategies in supporting children and families including our newly launched initial response system – GROW
- Creative activities and tools
- Memory making
We want to pay particular focus on the practical support that children need so we will be encouraging all participants to join in creative activities throughout the day. These will not be physically strenuous but would still encourage comfortable clothing to be worn.
This training will be beneficial for any practitioner working with children, in particular school staff, clinical staff and family support workers. A buffet lunch will be provided and refreshments available throughout the day.
The cost for this training will be £95 per delegate which will also include a certificate of completion detailing your CPD hours.
Please note, places are limited. The training will be held at our Selly Park site.
