This October a team of West Midlands Police Officers will be pounding the pavement in aid of Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice at the 2015 Great Birmingham Run.

Maria and four of her colleagues from the Birmingham branch of the West Midlands Police force will be taking on the 13.1 mile challenge on 18th October to raise funds for the Hospice after they experienced the care provided here.

Maria said “We have all known people close to us that have been touched by terminal illness, but some of us have had the chance to witness the amazing and selfless work carried out by the Hospice first hand. The Hospice cared for my mother in her final days, and supported my family too”

“Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice relies heavily on donations and we would like to raise at least £1000 to help them continue the fantastic work they do. It is fair to say we are not ‘natural athletes’ and running 13.1 miles is a tough task for us so we would really appreciate any donation you can make to make our efforts and blisters all worthwhile”
