Aston RAG raise £200 for the Hospice

19 May 2014

Aston RAG – Raise  and Give – proudly handed over a cheque for £200 to Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice at the RAG’s annual presentation evening.

RAG is Aston Student Union’s Official Charity Society. The Society was set up to support students who enjoy making a difference in their fundraising efforts.

The funds were raised after the Hospice was selected as personal charity of the year by Fundraising Officer Alex Rymer.

Alex chose the Hospice as her charity of the year after visiting the Hospice last year and seeing first-hand how we support families across the Midlands.

The RAG took part in a range of activities to raise the funds, including bake sales and sponsored events.

After collecting the cheque, Fundraising Projects Officer Sarah Barber said: “I am delighted to be receiving this donation; it is great to see young people getting involved with fundraising activity. I hope that this will encourage other societies to get involved”
