Community & Events Volunteer

Role: Community & Events Volunteer
Hours: Flexible
Reporting to:  Community Fundraising & Events Team

For over 150 years, Birmingham Hospice has been providing specialist care for people living with a terminal diagnosis, and their families.

We believe people from all communities should have access to the compassionate care and expert support they need; when, where and how they choose.

As a Community & Events Volunteer, you will play a vital role in supporting Birmingham Hospice by representing us at events and within the local community.
Whether you’re cheering on participants at a sponsored walk, helping with collections, promoting our work in your local area, or assisting behind the scenes at an event, your time and enthusiasm will help us raise vital funds and reach more people who need our care.

This is a flexible and varied opportunity, ideal for someone who enjoys meeting new people, being active in their community, and making a meaningful impact.

What you could get involved with:

  • Cheer on participants at sporting and challenge events, creating an encouraging and supportive atmosphere.
  • Assist with the setup and pack-down of event equipment and materials.
  • Support with event activities such as registration, selling raffle tickets, bucket collections, merchandise sales, and stewarding.
  • Collect donations using collection tins, buckets, or contactless devices at events or in the community.
  • Help spread the word about Birmingham Hospice by distributing literature, campaigning locally, and acting as a social influencer.
  • Provide ad-hoc practical support to the Fundraising and Events teams as needed.

Whether you can spare one hour a week or one hour a month, we want to hear from you: fundraisevol@birminghamhospice.org.uk
