Payroll Giving is a simple, tax-efficient way to support Birmingham Hospice and the compassionate care we provide for people living with a terminal diagnosis. By donating directly from your salary before tax is deducted, your gift goes further – costing you less while helping more.

The easy way to make every moment matter for patients and their families

Payroll Giving is donating straight from your pay without having to think about it. It’s cost-effective because HMRC tops up your donation with the money that would otherwise have been tax, so you pay less but give more.

Payroll giving is a simple and tax-efficient way to donate to charity directly from their salary. Donations are taken before income tax is applied, meaning we receive more at no extra cost to you. For example, a £10 donation only costs a basic-rate taxpayer £8, and even less for higher-rate taxpayers.

How to sign up for Payroll Giving

Signing up for Payroll Giving is quick and simple. Speak to your HR or Payroll department and let them know you would like to sign up and donate to Birmingham Hospice from your pay every month.

Charities Trust, an approved HMRC approved Payroll Giving Agency process donations on our behalf. If your employer is not yet registered with Charities Trust, they can enrol here.

Sign up in three easy steps!

Step 1: Request to sign up via your HR/Payroll team

Let your HR or Payroll team know that you would like to donate to Birmingham Hospice, and don’t forget to opt in to communications from us so we can keep in touch!

Step 2: Charities Trust will contact your payroll team

Within six weeks, your donation will be confirmed and will automatically start coming from your gross salary each payday.

Step 3: Your regular gift starts to make a difference

You’ll be helping us to provide care and support to those living with a terminal diagnosis and their families.
