Bank Housekeeping Assistant – Selly Park
Make Every Moment Matter — Starting with a Clean, Caring Space
At Birmingham Hospice, we make every moment matter for people living with life-limiting conditions and their loved ones. Now, we’re looking for a dedicated Housekeeping Assistant to help us create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, families, and staff on an as and when required basis at our Selly Park site.

What You’ll Do
- Keep our hospice spotless and safe to the highest standards.
- Support infection control measures to protect patients and visitors.
- Work closely with our friendly Facilities Team.
What We’re Looking For
- A good standard of education.
- Previous cleaning experience and attention to detail.
- Basic health and safety knowledge (risk assessments, COSHH, manual handling).
- Ability to maintain records and complete work schedules.
- Ability to work on an as and when required basis to help cover busy times, holiday and sickness absence

Barbara Bennett, a Healthcare Assistant at Birmingham Hospice’s Erdington site, was inspired to join the hospice after seeing the expert palliative care her dad, Frederick, received there.
Having worked in healthcare for 30 years, Barbara decided it was time she went into palliative and end of life care after helping to care for her father when he was diagnosed with heart failure, kidney failure and dementia.
