We are delighted to announce that Birmingham Hospice won the Charity of the Year title at the prestigious Birmingham Awards on Friday 17 October.
Now in their 10th year, the Birmingham Awards are a tribute to Birmingham’s people, culture and creativity, celebrating unity, pride and progress across the city.
Our award win recognised our position as the primary provider of hospice care in the city, providing support for around 670 patients on average every day across our services.
The judges also considered particular achievements over the past year, from continued expansion of our retail estate to our popular Bulls in the City art trail, as well as our role as a major education provider in the region and the volunteering opportunities we provide for local people.
Paul Bytheway, Chief Executive, said: “Award wins such as this aren’t just about providing recognition for our outstanding work, as important as that is – they are also a big help in raising our profile with decision-makers and potential supporters in the city.
“This win is a tribute to the efforts of everyone at the hospice throughout the year, and the Executive Team would like to share our thanks and congratulations with them all.”
