Gift Aid helps us go the extra mile for local people living with a terminal diagnosis.

Did you know? Palliative care isn’t fully funded by the NHS, despite being a vital specialist healthcare service.
Gift Aid is an incredibly valuable way to make donations go further at no extra cost to you.
By allowing Birmingham Hospice to claim an additional 25p for every £1 donated from HMRC, Gift Aid significantly increases the impact of each contribution. This means, for example, that your £20 donation becomes £25 – providing even more funds to support specialist palliative and end-of-life care for local people and their families.
The difference this makes for Birmingham Hospice is profound: it helps to fund essential services such as nursing care, bereavement support, and wellbeing services, ensuring that patients can live with comfort, dignity, and choice, and their families can be supported too.
How you can help?
By choosing to tick the Gift Aid box when you make a donation, sign up for regular giving or Payroll Giving, you will enable us to reach more people in need and provide vital care within the community.
Your Gift Aid donation helps people like Diane to cope with their grief after the death of a loved one.
Diane Fisher initially felt she was coping with the loss of beloved husband of 60 years, David, to cancer in 2023 but realised over time that she needed help.
Birmingham Hospice has trained and experienced counsellors who are here to listen to a person or family’s emotional concerns and provide support.
She turned to our Wellbeing Team and organised friendly and confidential sessions with counsellor Chris Stephenson, who helped her to move into a better place.
Diane said: “Chris let me talk and every week I felt better. They do wonderful work there”.
We offer one-to-one support as well as support groups for those with life-limiting conditions and their families, and art therapy to help support with wellbeing, all of which are free of charge to anyone with a connection to the hospice.
Diane added: “If you’re offered counselling, take it or seek it out if you need to. If someone asked me what we did, I would say we talked about everything.”
