Unfortunately many of our fundraising campaigns have had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 crisis, but that doesn’t mean you can not continue to fundraise for the Hospice! We have lots of idea’s below on how you can host a virtual fundraiser to help make a real difference to the Hospice;
A virtual quiz is a great way to not only pass the time during lockdown but also socialise with friends and family. We have two 6 round quiz questions that you can use from our Comfy Quiz or they might give you some inspiration for when creating your own virtual quiz! Some fun quiz questions rounds could include; Music Intro round, picture reveal round, Missing link round and guess the average rounds!
Virtual Games Night
There are lots of apps that you can download to play games virtually with your friends such as Uno, Scrabble and Ludo. Alternatively you may have games that you can play virtually that you have at home or can adapt to play virtually such as play your cards right and family fortunes.
If video gaming is more your style, then you can take part in Raise Your Game! Visit the Raise Your Game page for further information and resources to support you with your event!
Not being able to go to the hairdressers, means people are taking their hair cuts into their own hands! If your hair is getting out of control and you are thinking of taking the chop, you can do something great from it! Gather sponsorship from family and friends to support the Hospice and maybe even give them control over the hairdo that you give yourself! Make sure to live stream it for all your family and friends to see. For more support on your fundraising and information on how to set up your fundraising page, email email@example.com.
Grab a cuppa or pot of coffee (or maybe something a bit stronger!), along with a sweet treat to have a virtual catch up with your friends or family. Take some time out of your day to have a natter and a laugh with your loved ones. You could also include a short quiz, games or a bake off to add some extra fun to the coffee morning.
Whilst we are in lockdown, many of you have been baking some delicious goodies. Host a Bake off with friends or family for the best decorated cake! Have an independent judge and maybe even have a theme for your decorations for example Superhero’s, flowers or chocolate! Who will be crowned the best cake decorator! Download a your bake off certificate here which can be sent to the winner!
Many of you will have had your birthday plans cancelled or postponed, but you can still make a difference on your birthday! You can ask your loved ones to donate what they would have spent on a drink or day out for your birthday and donate it to the Hospice. You can set up a Facebook birthday fundraiser or a Just Giving page to collect your fantastic donations. Download our bunting to add some decorations to celebrate your day!
Whichever virtual fundraiser you decide to host, ask for a donation to join in the fun and help support the Hospice. The funds you raise will help make a real difference to our frontline staff who are continuing to work tirelessly every day to ensure urgent care can continue and support those who need us most during these difficult times.
Make sure to tag Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice into your pictures on social media! We would love to see what you have been getting up to.
