Are you an experienced Registered Nurse who is passionate about the delivery of excellent care?

Are you a positive thinker who is able to inspire and motivate people?

99% of respondents from our last staff survey are clear on how their role contributes to Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice’s objectives. If you’re feeling inspired and would like to help us meet our goals please read on.

We are seeking to recruit a senior nurse into the role of Professional Development Nurse. This is an exciting time at the hospice and this role offers the opportunity to advance the nursing service and be a major part of changes and developments in nursing practice.

Applicants must be passionate about the development of a nursing service sensitive to the needs of palliative care patients. Working with the Lead Nurse for the Inpatient Unit you will be required to create and develop evidence based clinical competencies, classroom and bedside teaching of nursing staff and support the delivery of the wider education programme. An important part of your role will also be to enhance the nursing role through knowledge and education in order to develop the skills required to develop more nurse led service.

There are many benefits of working for our medium-sized, highly regarded charity, such as an enhanced annual leave entitlement of up to 33 days per annum; previous service with the NHS is taken into account when calculating entitlements. We also offer free on-site parking, childcare vouchers and a BHSF healthcare scheme which provides financial support for a range of healthcare costs such as dental, optical and hospital treatment. As well as these benefits and many others, the Hospice also offers an enhanced pension scheme through Scottish Widows. Also as a Direction Employer of NHS Pensions, employees who currently contribute to the NHS Pension Scheme can continue to do so.
