Philanthropy Support Intern

Responsible to: Corporate Partnerships Manager

Location: Office based (Selly Park) with travel around Birmingham and Sandwell

Duration of Internship: September 2017 – June 2018

Hours/days: 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) with some work in the evenings and weekends.

The internship role focuses on supporting the philanthropy team to source new corporate and trust funders as we seek to grow these income streams to support the Hospice’s work. The role will involve: researching prospects and growing the core application calendar; maintaining strong recording systems; managing acknowledgement letters and assisting with corporate events.

Key Duties:

- Develop corporate and trust donor acquisition through research and the collation of information.

- Maintain records and databases for excellent account management.

- Support the organisation of philanthropic events aimed at supporters from the corporate and trust field.

- Provide detailed briefs on potential prospects and application opportunities.

- Research trust and corporate fundraising income generation opportunities and add to the calendar.

- Support both the pre-award planning process and post-award reporting process, collating key data & external research.

- Assist with organising focus groups/surveys to form an evidence base as part of project evaluation.

- Assist with the formal development of a philanthropic supporter journey.
