Payroll Officer

Part-time - 22.5 hours per week


Hospice Band 5 (Salary £21,818 - £28,368 pro rata per annum dependent upon skills and experience)

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Birmingham based, highly regarded medium sized charity and make an impact as Payroll Officer.

Reporting to the Accountant, the role is responsible for delivering an accurate, timely and compliant payroll service for over 200 employees and being a key member of the finance team. Excellent customer service is a priority to our organisation so the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent skills in this area.

The key skills and qualifications required for this role are –

  • Previous experience of running a complex payroll system, preferably healthcare based
  • Excellent IT skills, and demonstrable experience of using payroll systems
  • Ability to work under own initiative and to prioritise workload effectively
  • Good communication skills with a strong customer service focus.

The post holder will be supporting the Accountant in achieving process efficiencies and improved financial services support to the Hospice.
