Commissioned by Birmingham and Solihull CCG in collaboration with Marie Curie and St Giles Hospice, these live webinars are delivered by Birmingham Hospice by local Palliative Care experts.
As part of our commitment to the NHS England comprehensive model of personalised care, these sessions will highlight the importance of shared decision making and personalised care and support planning when working with patients and families.
Each live webinar is free to join and will enable you to share and learn from your own and other healthcare professionals experiences. The sessions will equip you with the tools and resources you need to confidently manage challenging situations that may arise when caring for patients with palliative care needs.
This webinar aims to support community-based and out-of-hours prescribers who require more specialist knowledge regarding medicines management at end of life.
You can expect to learn:
- use of the MASC form and the importance of person-centred care and anticipatory planning
- identify the common symptoms in patients at end of life, how they are managed
- guidelines for requesting/prescribing anticipatory medications.
100% of previous participants ‘strongly agreed’ or ‘agreed’ that learning from our teaching webinars will help in their day to day practice.
We want to ensure our education is accessible to all, so if you require additional support to access any of our training sessions (eg. due to learning difference or disability) please get in touch with us at education@birminghamhospice.org.uk.
