Light up a Life

Light up a Life is an intimate and warm celebration of our loved ones no longer here and an opportunity to support your local hospice to continue providing its expert care now, and in the future.

Celebrate and remember

This Christmas, come together to celebrate and remember those you love while supporting your local hospice.

Dedicate a star in memory of your loved one to be displayed at our Light up a Life events in December. You will also have the option for your loved one’s name to be included in our book of remembrance, which will be displayed at both sites all year round.

Please also consider donating in their memory to ensure people with life-limiting illnesses receive the care they deserve.

Only dedications received on or before Monday 2nd December will be included at our events and featured in the book of remembrance.

Join the Quigley family at this year's event

Jo’s husband David was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer in 2023, aged just 37.

He was cared for by Birmingham Hospice and spent time in our Family Centre, part of our Selly Park Inpatient Unit.

Jo said: “Light up a Life will give us the opportunity to be around people who know what it’s like to experience the pain of loss. But it also gives us the chance to cherish his memory alongside the nurses and others who cared for him and remember how David lit up my life. I hope you can join us too.”

This December, we will gather to remember the joy and light those special people brought to our lives ⭐

How your donation helps

£22 could pay for each hour of care on Christmas Day in our Inpatient Units, offering specialist care from our team of medical experts.
£56 could pay for a bereavement support session to help families through the journey of grief during the festive season, a particularly difficult time to experience loss.
£89 could pay for a nurse to visit a patient in their home so they can be cared for in the place of their choice around Christmastime.
