Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care

Integrated Community Palliative Care Team

Hospice Band 7 (£31,383 - £ 41,374 per annum)

37.5 hours per week

We are looking for an enthusiastic highly skilled individual who is a team player, dynamic and passionate about palliative care and the role of the Clinical Nurse Specialist. The post involves working within a multi-disciplinary team offering specialist palliative care to patients with progressive end stage illnesses, in their own homes. Excellent leadership and communication skills are needed to fulfil this role. Teaching experience is essential in order to share knowledge and skills and enhance high standards of palliative care.

Band 7 candidates will have a recognised post registration qualification in palliative care (minimum of 20 credits at 1st degree level). In addition a palliative care or other relevant degree is required. Relevant experience at NHS Band 7 (or equivalent) and clinical skills underpinned by advanced knowledge of palliative care and current issues is essential, as is being a car owner/driver.

The role includes on call responsibilities (telephone advisory service) and weekend work on a rota basis.
