Clinical Administration Lead

Full time – 37.5 hours per week

Hospice Band 6 – £26,244 to £35,225 (dependent on skills and experience)

Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice excels at providing end of life care. As a pioneer and specialist in our field we do this in a range of settings with the majority of care provided in people’s own homes. We have embarked on an ambitious and innovative programme of change and our dynamic and professional administrators play a key role in supporting our clinical teams to implement this strategy.

The post holder will hold senior line management responsibility for some members of the clinical administration team. They will be responsible for reviewing, developing and improving the allocation of all clinical administrative resource, in line with changing organisational need and priorities. They will set up and maintain effective systems, including an appropriate reporting structure, in order to provide a fully managed secretarial and administrative service to the Medical Director and Nursing Director and across all the clinical areas.

The post holder will be expected to use a range of skills, knowledge and initiative and delegate appropriately in order to provide the support necessary to enable the Clinical Directors and their teams to carry out duties effectively. They will also take a lead role in the on going development of a highly effective organisational framework for clinical governance.

You should have a proven track record of project management and setting up effective office systems as well as line management and budgeting.
