CATERING TEAM LEADER  –  35 HOURS PER WEEK 

Hospice Band 4 £18,703 - £22459 pro rata

We are currently expanding our catering team at Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice and are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our friendly team.

An exciting permanent position has arisen for a Catering Team Leader, reporting to the Head of Facilities, to manage the Hospice catering service consisting of a team of 16 staff and 40 volunteers. The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of the department; initiating new menus; identifying and developing income generation opportunities within the various Hospice catering facilities; developing the team, ensuring compliance at all times together with ensuring our patients receive a high quality catering service.

The hours to be worked are mainly Monday to Friday, 0730 - 1500 (can be flexible, including half an hour unpaid lunch break), however, the post holder will also be required to work flexibly around core hours (0700 to 2000, 7days per week) to cover leave within the department as necessary which will include working weekends and bank holidays.

The ideal candidate will have strong supervisory skills, be computer literate and will have a proactive and enthusiastic approach. The focus on this role will be supervising and leading the team however, approximately 25% of time will be spent cooking.
