Staff at Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice gathered yesterday to mark the 35th Anniversary of the first patient admittance on March 5th 1979.

Volunteer Focus – Complementry Therapists
Based here at the Hospice, our volunteer Complementary therapists are integral members of the Hospice team. Working alongside the medical team they are trained professionals, experienced in palliative care and offering a range of treatments, including Massage, Reflexology and Aromatherapy. The treatments take into account a patient’s mobility, and can be given at the bedside or in one of the specially adapted treatment rooms. Here we chat to Dawn Teague…

Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice has announced its largest ever corporate donation after a year-long partnership with the Phoenix Group resulted in over £125,000 being raised.
Himalayas trek raises £30,000
As the nights started to draw in and the colder weather arrived, twelve intrepid Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice supporters took drastic steps to prolong the summer – travelling to India on an amazing adventure. The group spent a week trekking over 50km in the Himalayan foothills, before finishing off their trip by volunteering at CanKids, a charity in Dehli where children facing cancer go for support.
Weightmans Solicitors’ names Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice charity of the year
After a landslide victory in the office vote, Weightmans Solicitors’ Birmingham office has officially named Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice as its charity of the year. A number of local charities and national charities were put forward for consideration but as many staff members have been directly supported by Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice, the result was no surprise.
