The epic Great North Run is one of the biggest half-marathons in the world with over 57,000 runners, celebrities and world-class athletes such as Mo Farah and Charlotte Purdue. From Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice 40th anniversary to the Great North Run’s 40th birthday, over a million runners have ran over the Tyne Bridge since 1981. The 2020 run will be unlike any before, so prepare yourself for one best running experiences in the UK. The ballot for general entries will be available in January, but if you want a guaranteed entry sign up using one of our charity places and become part of the Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice team!
Open to runners of all levels and experience, once you’ve joined our team we will provide you with training and fundraising support along the way. Our support package includes:

- Ongoing training information and advice via our free online training zone
Register below to get your charity place if you’ve been unsuccessful in the ballot. We ask each charity place runner to pledge to raise a minimum of £300 sponsorship. We have a very limited number of places available so make sure to grab yours whilst you can!
100% of the sponsorship money you raise will help to create a future where the best experience of living is available to everyone leading up to and at the end of life. You will be helping to ensure the best hospice care is available for all patients, families and carers across our community, wherever and whenever they need it.
