We’re all guilty of taking our city for granted but if you stop for a second and have a look around, you’ll quickly remember that there is so much that Birmingham has to offer.
The 40 Mile March is the perfect reason to rediscover Brum, get fit and explore the beautiful outdoors again.
Here are a few walks to get you started…
Right on our doorstep, we have Clent Hills with its miles of historic footpaths and beautiful panoramic views across the Cotswolds and Welsh Borders. If you happen to like birds and rare insects too, you should head to the peaceful Walton Hill. Notch up the miles while taking in this beautiful part of the country that’s just a short drive away.

Walking around Birmingham
To cross off a decent chunk of your challenge, take in this walk designed by the guardian. Beginning at Cartlands Tea Rooms, this route takes you through Kings Heath park, Highbury park, Cannon Hill park and along a stretch of the river Rea.
You’ll walk past water features, beautifully planted flower beds, a cricket ground and fascinating areas of allotments. It also takes you past the Highbury where you can have a drink and a well-deserved pub meal!
